Damaged doors repaired without re-hanging or replacing

Doors get hit by everything on a site: trolleys, plasterboard, ladders, handles swung into walls, locks changed and old keeps left open. Replacing a door means a new leaf, re-hanging, ironmongery and often a finish that no longer matches the rest of the plot. Sinclair repairs the leaf in place and matches the finish to its neighbours.

Internal doors

• Veneered doors in oak, walnut, ash and stained veneers: dents, chips, scratches and lifted veneer, colour-matched by hand by our French polishers
• Painted and sprayed doors: chips and dents filled and resprayed to the existing colour
• Laminate and foil-wrapped doors: chips and scratches to faces and edges
• Communal entrance and corridor doors in apartment blocks
• Holes from relocated locks, handles and spy holes, and damage from break-ins

External doors

Composite, timber, UPVC and powder-coated metal doors: chipped edges, scratched faces, cracked UPVC panels, dented metal and faded or flaking finishes. Entrance doors can also be colour-changed by spray application rather than replaced. Frames and cills are covered under window repairs.

How it is done

Dents and chips are filled and shaped flush. On veneer the grain is recreated by hand and the colour built up in layers to match the surrounding door, then sealed. On painted doors the repair is primed and sprayed, feathered into the existing finish. Done properly you would struggle to find the repair.

We repair doors plot by plot at snagging stage for housebuilders and contractors across London and the South East, and for aftercare teams dealing with defects after handover. Repairs to internal doors and communal veneer doors are part of our scope on most residential schemes we work on. Our operatives are used to working in occupied homes and apartments: polite, tidy, and gone with the room clean. Hotels and offices use us to keep doors in service rather than closing rooms for replacement.

Yes. Entrance doors and painted internal doors can be sprayed a new colour in place, with the frame finished to match.
